 “Welcoming Winter” Guided Meditation Gathering

The Celtic festival of Samhain is nearly identical to Halloween in the minds of most modern people. However, its roots have real astrological significance.  This holiday originally marked the last of the 4 cross-quarter dates of the year: the mid-way points between solstices and equinoxes. These are dates of considerable power and traditionally signify the beginning points of the seasons.

This year, the actual date of Samhain (the cross-quarter point) falls on November 6 – a full week after most people celebrate it. This is the real beginning of winter in the Northern hemisphere and an important power point of the year as we energetically wind down the year’s activity and enter into a season of stillness from which the energies of the new year will eventually spring. It is a beautiful time for reflection, connection with Spirit (including the ancestors), and preparing for what is to come.

• In this guided meditation event, we will gather together at this sacred time of year to clear away old energetic patterns that no longer serve us and to help us sanctify our space before a new cycle begins.
